Waiting
14 October, 1999

vinebar

Plans made, plans broke... waiting
Can't use phone, no internet ... waiting
Sitting alone, too quiet ...waiting
Could it be? no its not ...waiting

Starring nowhere, sitting trapped ...waiting
Can't go, might miss ...waiting
Can't call, might not get through ...waiting
Rumble heard, just a car ...waiting

Awake at dawn, heard a sound ...waiting
Heavy sigh, curtain drawn ... waiting
Sitting bored, nothing to do ...waiting
Tired of this, patience gone ...waiting

Plans not met, fingers rolled ...waiting
Three long days, anger grows ...waiting
Cannot go, cannot stay ...waiting
Phone call made, frown still stayed ...waiting

Promises made, promises broke ...waiting
Apologies made, wasting time ...waiting
Not forgiven, wasting life ...waiting
Still not here, venting strife ...waiting

Rumble heard, neighbor home ...waiting
Rumble heard, neighbor gone ...waiting
Rumble heard, nearby road ...waiting
Rumble heard, and I'm still waiting

hi, just like to comment that this poem really describe that dreaded feeling of anticipation. Right now, i'm having the same problem with UPS. What's worst, they never attempt to explain what 'exception' meant. I have to go search around the net and find out myself. It's a very important package where whether my university application depended on it. hopefully, those blind UPS people will notice my package by tommorow...

:)

I resent that! I work for UPS. Good times. At least I don't deliver packages. Great poem.
