How Many Tears / Years Will It Take?....
Author: Terrie*
![]()
how many times do I let you go
before I really allow
your soul to rise to the heavens?
how many times
do i drop down to my knees
and gently release ?
how many tears will it take
to let go and honor all those years?
how many years will it take
to let go and dry up all these tears?
i'm so tired of lying to myself
i'm not sure if anyone else
could ever love and accept a part of you and me
I thought I was brave
I thought I could do it
but I proved myself wrong
I still need you in my life
alone i cannot make it..
we have a daughter
whom looks up
and shares everything with me
who will walk her down the aisle
when it is time to be a bride
and share what a fathers love cannot hide
we have a son
whom is shy as can be
whom will encourage him
to speak his mind
i'm not the one
that could help him out
he's too much like me
who will take the time
to love our children whom are grown
will they love them
become a part of them
just as they would love me?
let you go
you know i truely try
as you hear my weak cry
how long before i know?
is there a code i must break
to know if my children and i he will never forsake?
