what a girl needs
what a girl gets
is a man like you
especially a girl like me

that loves you

I don't care for diamonds and rings
I don't care for luxury things
I care for the joy that you bring
loving you , doesn't cost a thing
anything else doesn't mean a thing

that’s why I love you...

I don't seek fame and fortune
new gadgets or notions
nothing else could compare
with the things you and I share

that’s how much I love you...

I enjoy when you feed me a line
because it is never a lie
temptations always set themselves in our path
we never fall into their trap
because I love you as much as you love me

and that’s why I love you

I love you cause your honest and true
you know exactly what to do
you give me my wanted space
and allow me to unbuckle my leather and lace

that’s what I love about you...

when you take to the road
gone months at a time
I welcome your return and what you unload
together we share what is yours and mine

that’s what I love about you...

you say..
my girl , my woman belongs to me

what my woman wants
what my woman needs
my woman gets
especially a woman like mine
from a man like me
the love can only be given by a heart as true as mine
I've never given her any less..

you've sent me flowers
their beauty surpasses me
they can never take your place
but the thought touches my heart
of the beauty of your love that surrounds me

9 to 5 is not for me
when your through you give it to me
a decent time to share your love with me on the phone
you know how I dislike being alone
when you are away

that's what I love about you...

you also know that my time is as imprtant
as your work and include me in your day when you can
no matter how busy you may be
your always thinking of me
always putting me first
after youv'e spoken with God

that’s what I love about you...

you always call to say I love you and good night
that’s what I love about you

you give me my needed space
I can stretch and you know I'll be back
like an eagle because of you high I will soar
as tame as a dove I will return the love
and as gentle as a butterfly I will land and flutter within your heart

that’s what I love about you...

when your job is complete
and come home
I'll open up and share your favorite treat
with you, no one could ever compete
for life, yours and mine,
I'll be forever yours
for always thinking of me...
because....

for making a woman out of me...

Hello Terrie. i liked your poem. it's very long. i didnt understand all of it. i just wanted to write something nice because you write nice stuff about my poems. when i grow up i want to write a long poem like this one. maybe you can show me how. Amy

Amy, sweetie your comments are as SWEET....
as your poetry. i write LONG poetry ..cause i am lonely and bored..LOL... actually.. i am like you, i write what i FEEL...i really start out w/a SHORT SIMPLE version then, i get zapped by the power of LOVE.... at that point i extend my version,( complicate it) as far as you wanting to write a long poem , honey you can..all the words you need are right there in your HEART...feel them? there there..cause i can feel them..once again thank you for such an endearing comment..HUGS/LOVE
