The Light
Author: Brown Eyz

The light I once knew is beginning to grow dim,
Though I know its not your fault for many years here youíve been.

Youíve stuck by the familiesí side no matter what,
You have never judged our faults only been there to give love.

You have always been in my life ever since I can remember,
But now I fear this may be your last December.

I took pictures of you and me in front of the Christmas tree,
So I can always look back on them keeping you close to me.

Your now fifteen years old they say thatís a good life for a dog,
But that doesnít comfort the thought of losing you, who will I turn to and who will I call.

Now itís hard for you to make it up the steps by yourself,
It pains me to watch you cry out for help.

When I used to walk in the door you would jump all around,
I took that for granite and told you to settle down.

I miss that puppy look in your eyes I'd seen for so long,
When your time does come I know youíll be with the angels where you belong.

Youíve given so much your fifteen years here on earth,
The day I lose you youíll never know how much will hurt.

Itís like watching your childhood drift away with the wind,
You are more than a dogÖ.youíre truly a best friend.
