Sounds Of Silence Of Two Marines..
11 November, 2004
Author: Terrie*
sounds of silence,
a hushing at a distance
eyes of the enemy
looking in haste and anger
faces frowning
no smile to be seen
eyes black as coal
sometimes we wonder
if they have a heart or soul?
crying
but nobody to tell
will they really listen?
hurting
but nobody to tell
would they really care?
visions
but nobody to tell
do they really want to see?
a lonely pen
only thing to hug
a letter from home
telling you ..
you are loved
a picture
to hold your thoughts
a moon over head
that you can share
from a distance
to keep your heart alive
a buddy
whose shoulder
you can soak up
a friend
for always
til the very end
a friend or two
buried
hours apart
yet they remain
always in your heart
the sacrafices
the secrets
that remain
as true friends
never meet again
except in the heavens
where more friendships
live on in ones heart
how long do they cry
and continue to die...
before they are heard?
all in the sound of silence
of being a Marine...
my sons/daughters
you are loved...

Martin Vann (67.234.27.220) -- Friday, November 12 2004, 05:33 pm Terrie Darlin, You know, how much this poem means to me, yet, the reader, has yet to hear, the true story. They grew up together, then joined the Marine Corps, soon, they were in Iraq. Within hours, on a faithful day, both gave, all they had for you and me. No, as a reader, you don't know, the whole story, both were child hood friends and died for us, yet, they will never be gone. To their families, remember this, life is short, but God's love is forever, and the day will come, we will "ALL," be together, once again and most of all, FOREVER, two young Marines fall. Ther feel for us and the citizens of Irag, tehy cry as we do, they want freedom, as we do. I love this poem, about tow friends, who fall for us, so, we can stand, and remember them, I will, what about you! MV |
