(dedicated to Kate)
O child..... time to stir your child soul,
Where do you play..when cold winds blow?
Growing older along the flow
Yet not older, as we both know.
O child..... who touches my heart,
Walk winding path, we are not apart.
Older souls find time to play
Today is now, after yesterday..
O child....sharing fires you knew,
Rivers ever flowing cleanse souls anew.
Your dreams awaiting to be done,
Miracles await 'neath God's sun.
O child....let me empower you
Go to edge of lake, when day is through.
Touch your toes into reflection of moon,
Say "yes" and hear the call of the Loon.
O child.... always safe with me,
Hug yourself tight, 'neath some flower tree.
Make your garden grow, O child soon free,
Your dreams will come true, as meant to be
------- Author's Notes -------
O Child was written for a friend dying of cancer..a wonderful positive woman who lived in a remote place around upper Maine.... she loved her poem and had it read as part of her eulogy a few months later...it reminds me to enjoy life until time to celebrate death and let that inner child out to play often. Tomorrow, today will be yesterday..and Kate lived each day well.

read with emotions that bought tears to stain my face,
To write a poem for a friend is a dedication to your own passion.
Very thoughtful Clive
