I Tried But My Heart Continued To Cry
29 March, 2005
Author: Terrie*
I tried to lie awake
but my soul cried itself to sleep
my heart feels like it had died
I tried to tell myself
this was not real
I tried to soothe my heart
as the pain drifted deeper inside
I tried to pretend
that for a while you had fallen asleep
I tried
to lie to my soul
that my heart didn't feel any pain
I tried to convince my heart that
everything i thought i felt
was just an illusion
playing tricks on my mind
I tried
I really ried
but the more I made up a lie
my heart continued to cry
I had to be honest
and let it know that you had died

Walnut, Pine and other trees, That share your love. Your heart beats, like a typewriter, and we all, read every word. MV |
