Beauty Is Deception
Show me an ocean, I'll show you tears.
Show me a rainbow, I'll show you fears.
Show me the sun, I'll show you destruction.
So me the moon, I'll show you deception.
Show me a rose, I'll show you thorns.
Show me an angel, I'll show you his horns.
Show me an escape, I'll show you Death coming.
Show me a mirror, I'll show you.. Nothing..

Your being realistic, that everything beautiful has an ugly side...I agree with you on that. And well, all I can say about the last line is, mirrors are deceptive. Keep that in mind.

It's good, and short poems are often very effective, so don't worry about it.

I love that last line, "Show me a mirror, I'll show you.. Nothing ..." It reminds me of how a mirror reflects people on the inside. That doesn't make sense, but it doesn't matter.
