Don’t say I love you
Don’t tear down the walls I have built inside
I’m not yet ready
Too many lonely tears I have cried
A heart still uncertain
Not used to giving, still to centered on my pride

Don’t say I love you
Don’t make me tremble at your touch
I’m not yet ready
Not used to caring for someone this much
A heart still uncertain
Don’t trust fairy tale endings as such

Please say I love you
This heart of mine is here for you to steal
I think I’m ready
I love the you make me feel
My heart is certain
My love for you is real

Don't say I love you

3rd stanza 4th line....

Should read "I love the way you make me feel."...
Exactly Terrie, you always seem to understand exactly what i am writing about...the fear of being loved is second only to the fear of never being loved...

!!!

Love can be a scary thing, but a beautiful thing as well, as is your poem. Lovely, very well written, and heart-felt. Great job!
