Death

Death comes like a
thief in the night.

It robs your flesh,
and devours your soul.

You breathe your last breath,
as it takes your last words.

Death covers you with darkness,
wraps it's arms around you tightly
taking you to a place unknown.

------- Author's Notes -------

I wrote this poem back years ago, after losing
someone very special to me. I felt he was robbed,
taken at such a young age, but also I felt that I
had been robbed by death. It felt as if death had
stolen him from me, and it took along time to
understand that this was a part of living..."dying"
I still don't understand why he was taken from his
son, his family, and from so many who loved him, but
I have tried to accept it, and know that someday we
will see him again. This poem was my feeling towards
death after losing him.

Jordan's Daddy

Hello again my poetic friend Tammy! Yes, I remember you sharing your poetry about losing your husband and I am so sorry. I can only imagine how you must feel. Sentimental tribute, W.O.W. poem!

Thank You Meridian

After losing him I was so mad, sad, well I went through so many different emotions... I felt he was cheated, and I as well. To me it just wasn't fair, and I turned my back on God, because I seen no hope, to me death was cruel, not fair, and all it did was rob the ones we love. So I wrote this poem because I hated what death did to us... but now I truly know he is in a better place, and I know God is taking care of him, and someday I will meet him in that paradise. Thank you hun for your comments they mean so much!
