Edinburgh Castle

First information of the castle being used as a royal
residence is in 11th century.
It changed hands back and forth from Scotland to England
many times over the centuries.  With each rebuilding
and adding to what stands today.  

Edinburgh Castle is still a working military establishment.

The One O'Clock Gun

This Gun is used to announce events such as The Queens
Birthday or her arrival into the city on official business 

Mostly it is known to be used as a way to set your
watches as it goes off at exactly 1:00pm weekdays
except for Sundays
