I'm not content to live like this
I'm not content to change
The loneliness eats at me
like a cancer to my heart
And for a while I wasn't alone

But to have to go back to the darkness
my together yet alone existence
I feel my sadness return
The thickness of the moment sours

The tears again return
Not silent as they have been before
But close to the surface
I have allowed myself to feel

The feelings have spoiled me
Opened the true reality of alone
Severing my self believed fantasy
That tomorrow would be any different

Perhaps a different alone
Perhaps a worse alone of my own making
Perhaps it's just destiny
I can never escape
