The Role She Plays
You wonder why I act this way,
Well I wonder why too,
You wonder why I say what I say,
I wonder why I say what I do,
You question every move I take,
I question them as well,
You question me if Iím fake,
Well I canít even tell,
You tell me what to do,
I donít get to decide,
I must listen to you,
Or it will be a bumpy ride,
I wonder why you act this way,
Why do you control me?
Why do you say what you say?
Why donít you just let me be?
Let me be me and you be you,
And then letís leave it be,
Letís go on and do what we do,
So then we both can see,
You canít go on being controlling,
That role isnít yours to play,
For if you did itíd be fooling,
Everyone youíve known unto this day,
I know you like to be in demand,
I know you like being a leader,
But just think of the role at hand,
Do you really want to be her?
The role isnít your role to play,
So I wonít give you the part,
Why donít you start new today?
Just begin by listening to your heart!
