i was reminded of this today
when a friend and i reminicsed
as we sat together by your grave
sharing a drink with you

he reminded me
of the many crazy things
you would do to impress me

you were alot of fun
you always out did yourself for me
sometimes you tended to over protect me

i miss that today
i have no one that would do the same
you always were there
to take care of everything

even when you were called away
to work you always made it home to me
when you knew i needed you
you never complained
even when it was
always about me and for me
you always took the time to escape from your job

and went right back
to tend to your job
as soon as you knew
i was ok and fulfilled with your love
that was what i loved about you

you always took the time
even when your job
kept you away from home

i cain recall
when you became my all
back when i followed the rainbow
and let my love flow

you captured me
with your love

my heart so content only
you could hear it scream
i followed my dream
it lead me straight to you
a love so pure and true

a sailor boy in his blues
every one knew whom i'd chose
not only because i've known of you
or the fact that we had a history too

you watched me grow from far away
this teenager into a woman
i cain recall
the nick name ya gave me "Legs"
you were such a goof-off

i remember the first time our eyes meet
your green eyes made me melt
if you would of asked me for something
it would of automatically been yours

i will always cherish that one day
of the promise you made
to return when you asked me to wait
and you said
you'd never leave me alone

immediatly you had my heart
by your spiritual ways
and the fact
you meant everything you said

well today your gone
and i continue to be alone

no i'm not sad
empty yes, deep inside
i just wish
i could bring you back

not a recent one.written several years back, i see him everyday in the eyes and hearts of our 2 adult children.a beautiful reminder, that he is always there and i am never alone..
