A Simple Love
17 June, 2005

Spending all your time and energy protecting my heart.
Saying we never will be apart.

But no one was their to protect your heart.
Wish we all could be smart.

Without warning what you thought was secure was gone,
and with it was your heart.

If we could change the past, we would never have parted.

Friends now and forever never to part.
A SIMPLE LOVE NOW.

------- Author's Notes -------

This is about my ex Loved him then but didn't realise it. Love him now, because how he cares about me and protects me. Even though we live apart, we know each other is there. I found my love I just didn't know it until I grew up.

Beautiful

This is heart touching, Barb. I feel it's a matter of not realizing what we've got until it's gone... but you've been given a second chance with the man you love and you now know how special that love is. Lovely poem.

I feel 10 feet tall when you and others comment so nicely. It takes me awhile to open up. My writing helps me do that. thanks for the nice words.
