Internet Ghost

I'm just a ghost
a mist of mind
My thoughts of you
are not unkind

I seek the truth
but what I see
is just the face
you show to me

It's hard to see the real you
when words are used
as "social glue"

The life you lead
behind the screen
is different from
the thoughts I've "seen"

The typing hands
the peering eyes
are hidden by
the social lies

I see you now
behind the mask
and I no longer
need to ask

The real you
the hidden soul
no longer has
to play the role

You are unique
and you will see
you are a ghost
so much like me
