Time passes by so quickly
I haven't had the chance
To tell her how I think of her
because of our circumstance

Years now gone, words unspoken
I dare not utter one thought
For if I speak those things I feel
Who knows what I'll have wrought?

It's just like human nature
to want what you cannot get
It seems the things that we most want
are the things we could regret

We live within our own worlds
and cross paths now and then
I get excited when I see her
the same as it's always been

I sensed one time she wanted me
the moment our eyes first met
Yet we have our unconnected lives
and everything's been set

Some years back she told to me
that she'd had thoughts of me
I never forgot those special words
they meant so much you see

At times when I'm home late at night,
or others when I'm far away
Anytime that she appears to me
I dream of those things I'd say

There are so many words for her
and wish that I were bold
keeping them deep inside myself
they're never to be told

I've never been so excited
as when she's next to me
It's so rare when it ever happens
but it's like thunder upon the sea

On those days that I catch her eye
and my heart throbs till it's sore
The glance is never long enough
there's more I must explore

She's such a gorgeous beauty
that takes my breath away
As time goes on she's more so
more beautiful each passing day

Some days I don't even see her
and I think of her later on
I feel like my day's not near complete
it gets better with the coming dawn

A few times I compliment her
not showing how I really feel
I mean it most sincerely
what I want to say, I conceal

If things had been different
I think it all the time
But life is just not like that
she's never to be mine
