We live in a world of impersonability.
We want to share good news, we get voice mail.

We want to explain, we get a recording.
We need something fixed we get an answering machine.

We just need a question answered, but we have to wait
for the beep and leave a message.

I like progress too, but to me this isn't progression.
This is FRUSTRATION.

So true

Yea -- I get frustrated and they say if you want `such and such' press button one.....if you want something else press button two..... by the time they get to `press button six' I'm so confused I can't even remember what I rang up about! --and they call it progress -- pah!

ya'll are hilarious

I'm sick of those recordings too. Let's say for instance the phone rang with JC Penney's number on the caller ID. Instead of hearing a person's voice, you hear a recording. But sometimes I like those recordings, especially the one that says "Check number 4-5-9-0 for the amount of $40 and 39 cents, was cleared on, July 14th 2005."
---Very good poem Barb!
