I Am The Sea

I am the sea
I can be what I want to be
I can be as gentle
as my waves against the shore;
Or I can take your biggest ship
and it will be seen nevermore.
I was there when God first made man
I heard the animals named;
and when God parted the red sea
the only time I was tamed.
When Jesus walked upon my waters
I felt the presence of God's hand;
and when He walked along my shore
He left those footprints
in the sand..
so when you see the sun's delight
dancing on my sparkling seas;
God gives you one of His greatest gifts
He gives you part of me.
I am the sea

Beautiful Poem

Connie, I don't recall having read any of your work before, but will. This is a beautiful poem. I personally, enjoy having the sea, oceans as bcakground for some of my efforts. There is a magic about the sea that exisit in all of us, perhaps as you stated, God being the loving power behind all things, is why it means so much to me. Very nice and warm wording. Thank You. I am the sea

Wonderful! You are the shore, the lake, the river, the ocean, every body of water, I can think of.... Whether the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, and etc.... This was truly touching...
Nice Connie! Smiles, Meri
