A Butterfly Kiss

While sitting quietly in my garden one hot summer day
I closed my eyes and my thoughts became a dream. I
Could see you in the distance as you fluttered from
Flower to flower.

I sat so quietly hoping you would come closer to me.
Softly you landed on my shoulder and
Kissed my cheek an whispered in my ear
Let me love you like no one has ever
Loved you before.

Gently you touched and healed this
Broken heart.
As your delicate wings caressed my
Body from head to toe. I heard you
Say I love you so.

Softly you asked may I
Taste the petals of your rose. An sip the
Honey deep in side of you. As I felt
Your delicate touch, I said please
Don't ever go, I need you so.

Then you whispered to my heart it is
Time, you must set me free.
As I raised my hands to the sky you kissed my
Lips and said I love you,
So please don't cry.
I will be waiting for you the next time you
Sit quietly in the garden. I will be waiting!

Thoughts & Dreams, Love Fuels The Poet's Pen

This poem cuts to the soul of all of us. This is wonderful, no tear is shed, no pain is felt, no one is left alone. The butterfly, we all see them on summer days, sharing love with loving blossoms. I feel this poem is much more that just the stroke, of a poet's pen. It is the privacy of heart and soul, reveled to all who love, being loved. Wonderful poem, so quiet, straight to the soul.
