As you cut away all the pain and feel the pleasure of the blood's flow
See all the tears like children, dancing down your arm, to the floor
You are alone, in your space, you can call love anything, so, you cut away
See the present become a get away to a place, only death knows
As you see, children who would love you forever, dancing down your arm
See each child's heart slide down your arm and bounce upon the floor
Tiny smiles that will never be, dance at your feet upon the play-ground floor
A tear, takes the place of all the blood as you reach for love, this is enough
Lift up those tiny hearts, hold them in your arms, they are not to blame
All your pain is the only friend you have ever known until, you saw
Tiny hearts, slide down your arm and bounce upon the play-ground floor
You stop and realize, you are life, love is in your heart, you feel the shame
How could I do such a thing to my tiny hearts, where I am is not where I will be
My children say, love yourself for if, you do, you will not destroy our tiny hearts
See us play and love you, take away the blade from our tiny hearts
Let you arm reach for our love, don't throw our tiny hearts upon a place so cold

You amaze me still, Martin! A very different way to look at it...a very true way. Excellent!

I hope there is a powerful message here and as you appreciate its truth, thank you for validating the results, of so many cuttings. The results of cutting can last forever, without a life time.

I should have mentioned this in my first response to your comment. I was listening to an Eagles CD and heard their song, "Love Will Help Us To Survive," that was when this poem was born.

We do things without realizing the harm it will cause. Oh by the way I didn't know eagles could sing, talented birds aren't they.lol couldn't resist Martin ha ha
