For Love It Still Beats

A lonely heart breaks as only too well it knows,
the pain it's meant to feel when from me she goes.
Accustomed to being hurt it has now become,
so never again to love will it succumb.

A solitary tear falls as it also knows the routine,
the heartache it's destined to show as destroyed is my dream.
So in the pit of me I hurt just like before,
as I pick myself up I know I can't take anymore.

A desperate soul cries out for the one that it belonged to,
but no reply comes as instead of one we're now two.
Sad because it's lost its mate, the only one it could wish for,
afraid of being left again so it closes the door.

A confused mind tries to fathom out why,
she came into my life just to say goodbye?
Taking a part of me as once more she leaves,
breaking the heart of me as my soul for hers it grieves.

A lonely life seeks for a love pure and true,
to never be hurt again or made to feel blue?
A little more cautious it promises to be,
to make sure that next time the whole picture it can see.

A mended heart has learnt to breathe once again,
though it was abused its purity will still remain.
No matter the amount of pain that it meets,
one thing's for sure FOR LOVE IT STILL BEATS!!!
