I Need Your Love Too

I dreamt I was falling but you caught me,
you just stood there and watched me fall as a new lesson you taught me.
How to stand all on my own,
as you're convinced that the nest I have flown.

But further from the truth that could never be,
I can't walk this life alone, why won't you help me?
Is it not evident from the lines on my face,
doesn't that give the impression I've been to a dark place?

Do you get a kick out of seeing me fall?
why don't you come running when it's your name I call?
Do I speak a language that you cannot comprehend,
is that the reason why me you want to offend?

Or is it all in my over tired mind?
is your love for me somewhere easy to find?
For I've sought out every place it could possibly be,
but yet I find myself slipping further from your tree.

Though I was your first, I'm the last you think about,
would you pay me attention if I was to scream and shout?
Beg you to notice me drowning in my tears,
living my life in solitude as I face my fears.

I just wish you could see how much I'm hurting inside,
that your arms could comfort me for all the nights I've cried.
I'm trying so hard to reach out to you,
for as grown up as you think I am I NEED YOUR LOVE TOO?!?!
