Captive Heart Soar

Breaking free from the shackles of heartache,
leaving my old skin behind as I watch old epidermis flake.
Into insignificance as who I truly am comes to light,
giving a glimpse into my future which shines so bright.

Shaking off my demons I move forth,
refusing them the right to stunt my loves growth.
Outshadowing my pain as I grow more by the day,
no longer living in fear that I'll never find my way.

A once locked door I notice is now ajar,
more than within my reach but used to be so far.
Imploring me to enter and hold no fear,
as everything falls into place and becomes so clear.

So I'm not going to be afraid anymore,
as courageously I walk through that door.
Holding my head up high as I step into the unknown,
immensely proud of myself at just how much I've grown.

Walking the journey of loving who I am and can be,
no longer afraid to let me love me.
Recognising the amazing person I've become,
as to loving myself I know it's okay to succumb.

Following my heart but listening to my head,
fearless to roam where I once feared to tread.
Standing on the edge I realise what I hold at my core,
the power to let my once CAPTIVE HEART SOAR!!!
