Truly Free

Bound no more,
as I come through this war.
A little bruised but that's all,
so unsure I'd come through this fall.

Without a scratch,
as my sanity proved hard to catch.
But my grip stayed strong,
as I prove myself wrong.

Finding my peace,
when the heartache did cease.
Sleepless nights that are now just a dream,
flow from me as I cross this stream.

A tranquil spot I now find,
in my heart, soul and mind.
Free to love should I choose,
my heart still breathes but owns a bruise.

That with time will fade away,
for I know I'm going to be okay.
Catching myself smiling so sweetly,
as my heart is restored oh so neatly.

Handing me the ability to love once more,
gently guiding me through acceptances door.
A river of self love now flows through me,
for hand on my heart I'm not TRULY FREE!!!
