River Of Pain

In over my head as you drown me in your concocted stories.
you've got me on my knees as you spill the details of your sordid glories.
All my tears for you begin to slowly mount up.
if only they were pennies I could set an account up.

Seeking a sanctuary as I cover my ears and start to sing.
but still profusely in my face your indiscretions you continue to fling.
I beg of you on both my knees.
to leave out details of the birds as you've done with the bees.

But you're not satisfied til you've smashed me completely.
tapping and chipping away so I crumble, you couldn't do it neatly?
Just one break for me to repair maybe I'd cope fine.
but as I swim in your words, I find myself starting to unwind.

Coming undone and unsure of who I was or who I am?
as you seek solace with another, oh you poor little lamb!
It's me who's drowning, but you're the one given a lifejacket.
this hard place I've found myself in I know I can crack it.

Damn does the water in here ever desist from flowing?
or for the rest of my life am I to spend it rowing?
I shouldn't have got in here, I knew I couldn't swim.
but it was me who filled this place to the brim.

Drowning in all the tears I've shed for you.
finally it's dawned on me what I have to do.
Pull the plug on this bittersweet rain.
as I refuse to reside in this RIVER OF PAIN!!
