Don't Hold Your Hand

I can't sleep,
so closer I creep.
Smiling as I've found you,
wrapping my loving arms around you.

My soft hand clasps yours selectively,
as my other rests on your tummy protectively.
Your warm soft body now begins to merge,
proving hard to try and purge.

Where it is I end and you begin,
sending shivers down my spine as we're skin on skin.
Holding you close shielding you from all harm,
as feathersoftly you caress my arm.

Whilst I sleep to show me you'll miss,
you turn my way for the sweetest kiss.
Just like the first time my pounding heart,
beats solely for you and I'm ready to part.

Not for long as we cross slumbers streams,
knowing for sure we'll end up in one anothers dreams.
So may your dreams be sweet,
and leave you feeling complete.

Through the night I begin to stir,
restless until we're snuggled the way we were.
Shushing my fears as you understand,
how lost I am when I DON'T HOLD YOUR HAND!!!

------- Author's Notes -------

Feeling a little lonely early hours of this morning when I wrote this...couldn't sleep and couldn't help but recall how secure one used to feel
