My Blissful Ignorance
I wish I could freeze time here right now,
ĎCause what youíre about to say,
I donít have much, except my ignorance.
And really all I need is your pretence.
So keep it that way,
Please keep it that way.
Itís so easy for you to do,
One little word and Iím in love with you.
Just look at the water, like a blue silk sheet,
But you donít see it; youíre looking at your feet.
If you noticed how beautiful everything is now,
Youíd want to keep it that way too.
So get ready to shatter me,
I can already feel my grip on happiness coming loose.
I donít know what the hell you want,
But I offer love.
You slip the words out your mouth so quickly,
So I almost donít hear.
But I do.
And every word,
Seems to last so long.
And every word,
Hurts me like a punch.
But I get up again.
Shaky and bruised,
I run back to you,
Like a dog fetching a ball.
And I imagine you to say ďthatís quite an appropriate comparison, for you are a b*tchĒ.
But you know Iíll come.
You can depend on me to be depending.
Because youíre all I need to be happy.
And itís so easy for you to do,
ĎCause one little word and Iím in love with you.
