My Side That's Weak

No longer bound,
tonight I have found.
That I possess the strength to walk away,
for I owe it to myself to no longer stay.

Courageously breaking free,
from the shackles of heartache that tried to bind me.
Standing my corner fighting my ground,
paddling through what once would have left me drowned.

Afraid no more,
when they attack what lies at my core.
Facing them head on,
as I know my hurt will soon be gone.

Taking its time,
but I know peace can be mine.
So with all that I am I hang in there,
vulnerable and my every emotion stripped bare.

Nowhere to hide,
all this hurt that I've bottled up inside.
As it begins to flow from my soul,
weakness exposed as down tumbles my wall.

Shattering my every defence,
as from all of this mess I try to make sense.
No answers come but still I seek,
why I show so easily MY SIDE THAT'S WEAK?!?
