The Story Of My Life - Home -2

Mum wanted a divorce,
Or so she told me.
Said she wanted to go,
But she never did leave..

Said she hates him
But stayed for us kids.
She tried to shock me with
The things he supposedly did.

She tried to turn me
Against dear old dad.
Not that it was hard,
With the memories I had..

Complained of abuse -
The emotional kind.
Said he belittled her,
Played games with her mind.

I watcher her run about
Giving him this and that,
While he sat back and watched
Like a contented cat.

I was her counsellor,
All her problems were mine.
It's no wonder I haven't
Turned out to be 'fine'.

She's now looking in the papers,
Looking for a house -
A haven where the fires
Of our pain we can douse.

She's found a new man,
Though he's married, it seems.
But she doesn't really care,
She's a bit overkeen..

Well I wish her luck,
Love, happiness and joy.
I hope she can find this
With her amazing new toy.
