A Long Overdue Answer

You once asked me
"How come?
How come you do not write poetry,
Or play guitar like you used to?"
I laughed and you responded
"Did I break you?"
And so I dwelled
On that question
And asked myself why
Why don't I write or play guitar
As much as I used to?
I found that when I remembered
Times before you
(Which I don't like to do)
I felt emptiness
An emptiness that could only be consoled
By poetry, or the strings of a guitar
There were no arms to embrace
Or a gentle hand
To wipe the tears from my face
The only comfort I had
Was myself, my words, my music...
So you see,
You did not break me -
You Healed Me.

AWESOME!

Wow Pamela, this poem has such a wonderful rhythm to it, and a totally rockin ending. Its like "BAM" there's the statement at the end, I like poems that do that. I enjoyed every word. Wonderful Work Pamela.

Hey :)

Hi Guys, So glad you liked this one. It's not my usual style, but like you said, it;s a statement more than anything. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment :)
