A Mother's Ashes Speaks To Her Children
18 November, 2005

So, long ago, we buried everything she loved, now, we turn her
Into ashes, place her love in a jar, passed around for years
One child to another, upon a shelf, so sad, for our mother
When her heart passed away, and father was laid in his grave

Mother cried, we all held her close as father was laid to rest
Then, mother went to sleep, a smile upon her face, we all cried
First our father, now, our mother, we see her final smile
A smile, so full of love, she is cremated and still she cries

Release me, lay my heart, soul and life upon my husbands place
Let me share with him the hearts that beat and remember us
Lay my heart upon his heart and I hope it rains so, I can see
Our love flow, as it did when you called us, mom and dad
