Be Thankful For Everything, Everyday

Every year as Thanksgivin’ rolls around
with the fresh aroma of sweet potato pie, turkey roastin',
all the sweet smells of a family tribal day
has it's good and bad
but mostly miraculous inspirin' stories to share and tell

It takes me back when one of my children was delivered
Birth complications sat in, my child and I
were separated one month too soon
the pain that i suffered was not havin' my child close to me
i could hear my childs cry from another room

All because they thought, complications would prevent my child’s birth
they decided to deliver by c-setion when, my child was not respondin'
to all that was administered intraveiniously
after delivery not one soul would say
Not quite sure if my child was goin’
to go home with a mom to hold

my husbands heart was bein' torn and tortured
never saw a man cry until he came into see me
to tell me,how much he loved me
as he held my hand, how much he needs me
and sayin' " please don't leave me"

Life is so precious no matter whom you are
God brought me back when he heard my child callin’ out for me
We spent Thanksgivin’ day in the hospital
Yet went home the following weekend
had another child at home and my husband waitin' for us

Today i look around Gods creations
and i see all the love and beauty he has given to me
Even though I thank him everyday
Upon the start and end of my day's

I ponder more upon Thanksgivin' day

I often find myself thankin’ him in my dreams
I thank him for my life, for my family
my extended family as well as my friends

I thank him for my son and my daughter
He knows the trouble I went through
in conceivin’ and deliverin’ them

I thank him for watchin’ over our 5 sons
that we never got to hold in our arms
Nor feed from my breast, before my daughter was born

God holds them all safely in his arms
I thank him for the life I had with my lovin’ husband of 13 years
even though it was short, he still lives in my heart

I look back at these past years
And expose every single well deserved tear
when the children volunteered to help me out in the first family feast
We faced without their dad ,at Grandmas

Oh they all loved it sooo much, the other children wantin’ to help out as well
This was soo heart tuggin’ to me ,a bittersweet memory
Each in their own little space creatin’ their own dish
Supervised by me, for the family meal

The most precious part of it all was listenin’ to their hearts say Grace
The youngest was a bit over 2
As we all held hands, we listened with our hearts

It drew tears even to the men of the family
As this was a day they all shared playin’ football
with the only one whom did not share our table ,but Gods table
For many of us it was our first , our last .
All I know is that each and every year had more meanin’ than the last
Cause all those that left before us were present as well, life’s end so fast

today, i thank him for you
for your friendship and love..

May every Thanks Givin' become more memorable than the many of the past

May you all feel the love in my heart that I send your way
On this Thanksgivin' Day
