So Full Of Everything

I am from
A world full of pompoms
Yelling for something I believe in but forgetting to scream when I need to be heard
My silhouette, an imperfect girl, battling with the faultless
Learning to find my voice.

I am from
Summers spent roasting charred marshmallows
Dancing in the rain and wishing on the stars
Waves thundering down on shore
Washing away my footsteps and erasing the past.

I am from
Tasting the acidic smoke
Colors of the explosions dancing across my face
A moment of silence in memory of Joe
My soul screaming out in protest.

I am from
Cherry-Cola red
Midnight "good-mornings" whispered over the telephone
A walk through the park and snow in my shoes
A web of tangled lies.

I am from
A wedding picture ripped in two
Letters signed "Rot in Hell"
A necklace sent from a jail inmate
A little girls heart bursting with broken promises.

I am from
A tequila bottle lying empty on the floor
Tears drying on my mothers face
A gun falling hard on the linoleum
The trigger already pulled.
