At One Time

There was a time I was happy,
and love lived in my heart.
Then you were taken from me,
and my world did fall apart.
At one time the sun was shining
and laughter did echo with glee.
That was before you left
now only pain echoes through me.
I now live with a sadness
that eats me up inside.
Back then I was happy, but
when you left I died.
Now only rain falls around my life
it's always cold, and dark.
Maybe someday the sun will shine again
and awaken my heart with a spark.
------- Author's Notes -------
This poem I wrote thinking of my love who went home to heaven. I miss him so much (Mark), and even though I have moved on in life I still love him. When he died a part of me died too, and it has been a struggle trying to face his death. |
