Desert Rain
8 January, 2006

In this Desert land in which I live,
It does mostly appear so ‘HOT’
Even in winter the temperature is fine,
Winds that blow stir the deserts sand,
It lands like a nomad not willing to stay,
Until it rains then the story is told,
Ten miles away the rain does fall,
The smell of the desert gives up a glow.

The smell is change and all around,
Step outside to see the rain fall down,
The desert calls each droplet down,
To give moisture to each grain and more,
Plants they bloom with the smell of rain,
Roads do shine as they too get wet,
Most of all the rain brings flowers,
Flowers that can only bloom in a desert,

The falling of rain brings so much to life,
The over soaked desert starts new life,
The now new lake starts a life of it’s own,
Look can you see, frogs appear,
Out from the once harden desert,
Then as quick as it fell,
The rain blows on,
The water it left now all gone,
But tomorrow you’ll smell as its back once more,
Rain will fall and bring everyone new life.
