The Light Of Day
27 January, 2006

The morning sun caresses soft silky skin
Chestnut colored tresses draped across satin pillows
Indigo eyes fluttering as they take in
The dawning of a new day
Rose colored lips part with a dreamy yawn
Nostrils flare, inhaling the fragrant scent of lilac
In the sultry summer breeze
Rising slowly sun-bronzed legs extend with grace
Feet dangling, edging towards the plush covered floor
Stretching, sprouting to an upright position
Blinds raised, curtains parted
The brightness spills in
Shadows recede
As a dazzling new day begins

------- Author's Notes -------

I woke up this morning feeling glad to be alive. That feeling inspired this writing.
