Dream Of Peace
1 February, 2006
Author: Marilyn A F Longfellow

vinebar

We could have run
And tried to hide.
But I told Martin
I'd stand by his side.
The fear of Death, and Hate, and Pain
He could oppress by peaceful change.
We could have tried
To run and hide.
But either way
He would have died.
So I gave
To you my dream.
And carried on in peaceful means.
Now I join my love so true.
And leave this Dream Of Peace to you

Miss Longfellow

It is indeed a tragic loss but tears of sadness won't be shed...but tears of joy in knowing that her soul is at rest. Very good tribute Marilyn!

I had to come back

MAF longfellow, I read over my comment and I had to rephrase what I said because it doesn't quite look the way I'd like others to perceive it.
I can definitely be misunderstood... So, when I said "tears of joy in knowing her soul is at rest" I mean, it was truly a sad day to hear about her death because she was a great lady. However, it's good knowing she's finally at peace. Sorry if the first comment of mine appeared unclear...

I just re-read this

and wanted to say what a lovely tribute this is, to a woman who was always so dignified and graceful. Great poem.
