You think you know everything about me
But in reality, you don't
You hardly know the real me at all
Because everyday I put on a mask

Sure I'm happy, I laugh sometimes
But don't you ever wonder why I'm so quiet?
A million things run through my head
But you can't see it because of the mask

All my life I've welcomed pain
I've made up more excuses to bring it back again
Yet you probably can't see the pain I feel
Because everyday I wear that same old mask

People die and friendships fade
I'm told to look back on the good times, not the bad
Yet either one makes me cry, because it's over
But no one can see that through my mask

I feel so invisible to everyone I know
Yeah people talk to me
But when I need someone the most, there's no one there
All because of my stupid mask

I'm not asking for all the attention in the world
I have all I ever need
Just take some time to notice me
And look behind my mask
