Another Christmas Without You

Outside the snow is falling
covering the ground.
I am inside warm
in my faded cotton gown.
I sit here at the window
watching the snow fall.
While shadows from the tree
linger on the wall.
Then my heart starts to sink
your face comes into view.
And I am reminded it's
another christmas without you.
Tears rush from my eyes,
and it breaks my heart.
Knowing another christmas without
you will tear our son apart.
He doesn't understand why
without you we must live.
He doesn't understand the gift
santa just can't give.
Every year on his list he
ask for only you.
He ask that you be with us
and our christmas not be blue.
Because he knows on christmas
day we will shed many tears.
It will be another christmas
without you, and without
you another year.
