I Dream

I dream of the day
when I can awake next to you always.
-never lonely again-
even when alone.

Of the day when the
world will be able
to look at our love
-and be envious of it
I dream of the days
that will come to us
together- always together
hand-in-hand walking
though fields of tomorrows

Our elders tell us we
know nothing of love
Did they when they were young?

I dream of the time
when there will be no
more tears of parting-
when no more will we say,-
"parting is such sweet sorrow"-
Shakespeare must have known
of our love- Or is
love such as ours timeless-
and it only appears to us as fresh- new-
passionately consuming
Is it only to us that
it feels brand new, wondering, timid,
Impatiently new?

When I trudge along day after day
in my own simple
world, it all seems
meaningless-
without you there to share it

I count the days
until I am in your arms again,

you make the rain go away
and the sun shine softly
thru a dozen rainbows
Thru your eyes the world is a different place..
full of fun, love, happy grins,
nights full of passionate love-
and soft content breathing together

I dream of the day
that you will ask me to share your life
forever, to share your
smiles and tears.

But then I awake and wonder
-if-
it is just a dream of mine?
My heart beats hard as I wonder
-if-
it is only my dream,
a dream-to which there Is
no reality
but the empty silence
of my tears...
In the dark
I whisper
Semper Fi--ALWAYS FAITHFUL--

to my dreams & you--
I give my love, my heart, and my soul devotion.....
the end.
