A State Of Mind
Author: Clive B Ringshall
Aging is just a state of mind
Waking up one morning I find
My hair itís grey,
His is distinguished
Creases etched around my eyes,
He just appears more mature,
None of this was there before,
Everything seem to have spread further South,
Even his belly is protruding out,
Spots of color and of light appear on this once slender body,
While I see his eyes are no longer young as before,
Wine tinted streaks decorate many parts,
Yet his veins still hide away,
Skin tags pop up here, there and everywhere,
How embarrassing is this change
Do you yet see this change in me?
Oh, yes itís just a state of mind I know,
Hips that spread
This canít be real
No! Itís all in my head
After all, itís just a state of mind

Thanks Clive for addressing society's perspective here. As a woman I am sposed to stay forever young. Men on the other hand are distinguished and mature vs. becoming "old"... Thanks for adding the male's voice. It was fun pal. We should do this again, only on a more pleasant subject. :)
