Longing to express
Secrets locked away
I’ll poise pen above paper
Searching for the words to begin
To make a start
Attempting to discover
Words yet unspoken
Wondering if the language of the spirit
Will spill forth across the page
These words I must impart
Feelings trapped within my soul
Struggling as I try to translate from the heart
A mere shadow I will try to convey
Of the depth of emotions held so deeply inside
All the while offering you a special piece of my heart
