Homeless Child
30 March, 2006

vinebar

I am a lost child
out here in the cold.
I do not have a home
I have no place to go.

My mommy didn't want me
she left me when I was five.
And I don't know my daddy
I bet he's not alive.

I wander the streets at night
searching for a meal.
After people are in their beds
their garbage I can steal.

Though I am homeless, and
these streets I do roam.
I know someday, someday
I will have a home.
IN HEAVEN

------- Author's Notes -------

It breaks my heart to know that there are children in this world without homes. I pray for these little ones who are cold, and hungry, who need a home with someone to love, and protect them.

yeah....

but this country doesn't give a tinker's damn about them - spend all the money in the world on space flights, rebuilt haiti when new orleans and other places are still a mess... people living under bridges and digging through garbage cans... but the politicians eat well and sleep well.
