Trail Of Tears
Author: Seizure

vinebar

There's a trail of blood there's a trail of tears
The trail's made up of everything he fears
His wife called him at work and said she was done
But he didn't think about it, he locked up every gun
The trail leads all the way down the hall
Into the bathroom and up on the wall
Then he found a blade floating in the sink
Then back out the room, he felt his heart sink
He started to get frantic as he called out her name
But she didn't answer back, adding onto the pain
Should he have come faster, would it change a thing?
Heading down the stairs he found her wedding ring
The trail led into the kitchen then back out to the den
This is too much blood to lose, when will he reach the end?
The patio was open so he went out to the back
He needs another sign, or did she fade to black?

There was a handprint in blood on the tool shed door
When he opened it up his wife was on the floor
He ran to her side and tried to make her wake
But she didn't move an inch, it was too much to take
This was his darkest hour as he dialed 911
He met them in the driveway then they all started to run
The medics checked the body but she didn't have a chance
He saw a vision when they first met at that dance
She could have whoever, she asked out on a whim
But of all the people there, she turned and picked out him
His eyes watered up as he dropped to her side
Her hands were clutching something, she held it as she died
When he picked it up, his eyes filled with surprise
A picture of his mistress, it all fell to his lies
He couldn't believe what happened, the worst of all his fears
He didn't mean to do this, he caused her trail of tears

Sad

Seizure buddy! Seizure, forgive me for being dumb on my part, but I've read "fade to black" in your poems before and never really questioned you on the meaning of the words. Does it mean, decay? Or actually, literally, become black through a gradual process? All in all, the story gets an Emmy for Best Picture, Best Author, and Best everything! Keep writing Seiz!

Amazing work... no words

This is amazing work...! You've created the feeling and the pain so well, as well as the feeling of betryal.. I don't think anyone can truly understand the pain of your lover being with someone else, unless you've had it happen to you. My guy and I were together for two years, in the end I found out he'd been lying to me for a year, he'd had sex with ours mates 14yr old sister... Seizure I don't have the words, well done xoxo
