Love And Marriage

What can a nightmare be,
but a dream become reality.

------- Author's Notes -------

This is an attempt at humor involving a rather negative statement about marriage. It compares the dream of finding love, and getting married, with the reality which can set in after years of marriage.

Thanks, MC

It's a bit of a stretch to call this one a poem, but what the heck, it's got one pair of rhyming syllables. Thanks for the comment.

Good

Short it may be
But not always true
What in the world
would I do
without my precious Boo!

Boo being my nickname for my husband.

You say it better than I can.

Thank for commenting.
I once lived on a sailboat in Nassau, Bahamas. Part of the time, a couple of doctors were living aboard. One of them always referred to his wife as "My Bride" She also was with us on the boat. His nickname for his wife was "Boo".
Your husband's nickname being "Boo" brought me right back to those "sailing days".

Love and Marriage

This was something I came up with during a conversation with my neice. Glad you had a chuckle. I like simplicity, and this surely is simple.

You're too kind, Barb

This little poem surely is short. I guess short is good sometimes.
I once worked with someone who had been divorced and had remarried the same woman. This time the marriage seemed to work, because they stayed married for the rest of their lives, which was many years.
He had a funny way of talking about the experience. He said "We tried getting a divorce, but it didn't work out, so we got married again."

you are welcome

When we were married I think we were too young.
Now we are older and know how much friendship and trust means.

Love and Marriage

The challenge of courtship and marriage is titilating. What comes later is a different kind of love. Sort of like having the dessert before the meal.

That comment sounds right.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I've never been married, but I can still recognize words of wisdom.

That comment sounds right, Renee.
