You asked me today
In your little girl way
Why do the stars come out only in the night?
Why do mommy and daddy always fight?
Why doesn’t the sunshine when it rains?
Why does daddy call mommy a pain?
Where do raindrops come from?
Why does Daddy say Mommy's dumb?
Why do apples grow on a tree?
The last question you posed
With a grown-up like sigh
Caused tears to well up in my eyes
Climbing up upon my knee
I'll never forget the words you said
As I tucked you gently into bed
Why doesn’t anyone pay attention to me?

Heartbreaking

Children are so much more aware than adults give them credit for. Again, I thank God that your grand-daughter has you to give her some light in the darkness. Thanks for sharing Caty.
