My spirit was stunned,
when you slipped into darkness
yet I knew you were beckoned
towards the light,
reunited with loved ones.
Iím glad Deathís clock waited
for me to say goodbye.
For years grief gnawed
deep inside my core;
this is the monsterís ultimate bite.
Death has rescued you from
the depths of Alzheimerís abyss.
My head spins with memories:
our last walk, the hugs we shared
my final whispers by your bed.
I love you Mam
and miss you.

It's by grace we are allowed the time it takes to gently let go. It's never easy.
