What Happened To Forever Summer ?
25 June, 2006
Author: Pondering Red
What happened to
the sweet summer-
the never ending days
of living in the lake ??
I sit in my city kitchen -
on the fringe of the highway-
on the edge of a single thought
that could reel me into terror.
What happened to running
wild and free
with flip flops making
soft rhythmic
clicking sounds ??
We ate more rasberies
than we picked
as we walked down the
gravel stony road -
no houses - no people -
only the mist over the lily pads.
What happened to the
calm feeling
of being
in the middle of the small lake-
clear water all around ??
I stretched my arm
and cut into the clarity,
creating beautiful ripples-
- perfection -
- contentment -
I sit now
looking out onto
the profile of the city.
Heat inches through the
windows-
This summer
I will plan my
escape from you.

MC (64.12.116.5) -- Wednesday, June 28 2006, 12:40 am don't we all long for those days when it was simpler, in our lives? Go for it, PR. We all need a break from our realities to refresh us. Thanks for sharing the thought. |
