Dreams In The Distance

Beyond our dreams in the distance called today,
In place call hope where the grass is so green,
Trees are all drawn from our kindergarten years,
Lakes are round with colours from our mind,
A house stands alone with a white picket fence around,
Windows are square then squared again,
A door stands in the center of this house we call home,
If you walk the yellow path it will open for you,

Still in this place of hope I do find,
A dream of a dream I had once before,
A family to hold of a mum dad and me,
Running track at school with them cheering at me.
As I hold out my hand they fade away clear,
I knew this dream was a dream once more,

Today I sit before words now all grown,
Still looking for a time that I can be Dad,
My time has taken so many twists and turns,
My life has traveled promises broken when told,
Still in hope I’ll wonder my road ahead.

Living in this land of hope and dreams,
I write story’s that find different life’s,
As each who read many feeling are felt,
As each that read different scenes are set,
In this dream in a distance that we still call today
My love look for tomorrow at what today can bring.
